While using the Public Access Computers or the Library’s wireless network, users acknowledge this policy by clicking on the ACCEPT button at the time of login that they are subject to, and agree to abide by all local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations applicable to Internet use. The Library may investigate any improper use of its computing resources.
- Public computers are available for public use up to two hours per day, one hour at a time, at no cost to the user. An additional hour is permitted if no one is waiting for a computer terminal. Additional time may be granted at the discretion of library staff.
- The terminal is in a public place. Patrons must not display visual information that is objectionable to others.
- Patrons may not display, download, access, or transmit obscene, explicit, graphic, offensive, or illegal materials.
- Patron may not use the computers to violate any law.
- Patrons must not make sounds or visuals which might disrupt the ability of other library patrons to use the library and its resources.
- No more than two people shall sit at a computer at the same time.
- Patrons may not interfere with the library’s computer network.
- Patrons may not tamper with or reconfigure the library’s computer hardware or software.
- Patrons may not change any settings on the computer or save files to the hard drive.
- Staff reserve the right to block a site if it significantly impairs the use of the Internet bandwidth.
- Patrons must promptly relinquish their computer terminal when asked to do so by staff.
- Public Wi-Fi is available at no cost to patrons.
- All public computers can print, and wireless printing is also available.
- Printing in black ink is available for 15¢ a page. Printing in color is available for 25¢ a page. Cash is the only accepted payment option. There is no charge for printing school work.
- The copier is capable of scanning documents. There is no charge for this service.
Patrons must finish using library computers and vacate their computer station no later than 10 minutes before the library closes. Please save your work and log off promptly to allow for end-of-day procedures. Failure to abide by these rules may result in the loss of computer privileges for a period of time as determined by the City Librarian.
