Year of Wonders
Novel by Geraldine Brooks
Year of Wonders is a 2001 historical fiction novel by Geraldine Brooks, based on the true story of the village of Eyam, England, which quarantined itself during the 1666 bubonic plague outbreak. Told through the eyes of young widow Anna Frith, the book explores themes of resilience, fear, and community as the isolated villagers confront the plague, leading to both acts of heroism and fanaticism.
