Carpinteria Community Library is proud to support the City of Carpinteria’s sustainability efforts and support for the environment by responsibly recycling with the community.
Batteries are considered hazardous waste in California when they are discarded. All batteries must be recycled or taken to a household hazardous waste disposal facility, a universal waste handler (e.g., storage facility or broker), or an authorized recycling facility.
Accepted materials at the Carpinteria Community Library:
- AAA, AA, C, D, button cell, 9-volt, and all other batteries, both rechargeable and single-use batteries.
For other hazardous materials visit Hazardous Waste Disposal – City of Carpinteria
The Library also collects eye wear for recycling through the Lion’s Club. Patrons may bring used or unneeded eye glasses to the Library.
